A delicious, fruity, juicy, easy drinking style carignan from the Minervois. Great Value!
The Carignan dominated 2013 K (it's labeled as K2013) is a beautiful, lively and fresh red that has lots of black cherry and blueberry fruit intermixed with notes of pepper, new leather, tar and earthy qualities on the nose. This flows to a medium-bodied, juicy and elegant 2013 that has vibrant acidity, solid purity of fruit and a delicious, easy drinking style. It will be better in another year or so, and drink well through 2020.

Beef on BBQ, mushrooms.
Aromas of red and black berries, pepper, new leather, tar with hint of garrigue. Medium-bodied, juicy and elegant wine that has some vibrant acidity and a nice purity of fruit.
Grapes are kept cold for 24 hours after harvest. Total destemming. Very strict sorting of the grapes. Fermentation in concrete tanks. Long maceration (35 days). 80% stays in tank while 20% is aged for 5 months in used barrels (3 wines).
Organic farming. Working of the soils. Hand harvest into 12kg baskets.

Claude and Isabel Fonquerle began farming Minervois La Liviniere in 2002, in partnership with oenologist Philippe Cambie of Chateauneuf du Pape. “While Chateauneuf remains the source of my orientation, Burgundy is my inspiration. The purity of fruit and the minerality in those wines is something magical. Think of Henri Jayer!”. Claude has already redefined the potential of Minervois, and bottled what are almost certainly the finest and most exciting wines ever grown in that appellation, not to mention their representing extraordinary values.
