The Perraud family was one of many making their living from growing grapes for the local co-operative. Then, in 2005, encouraged by his parents, Jean-Christophe Perraud (then 24 years of age) began to make and bottle wine from the family’s vineyards. He now has 25 hectares of Bourgogne, Mâcon and Saint-Véran vineyards. Domaine Perraud is a fine example of a young producer striking out on his own to create what will soon be one of the Mâconnais’ most respected domaines. The wines show remarkable elegance, purity and complexity at modest price tags.
