The owner of the estate are the same as the famous Château le Puy (well known in Japan through the manga “the Drops of God”), and the plots are really close to each other.
La Closerie Saint Roc comprises 16 hectares in the production area of Bordeaux and Côtes de Bordeaux in the municipality of Puisseguin at only 12km from Saint Emilion.
The soils, with little soil on the rocks, benefit from a mainly clayey-limestone subsoil on a limestone base that offers considerable acidity and minerality.
Within their ecosystem, Pascal, Valerie Amoreau and Harold Langlais follow the philosophy and ancestral methods developed by the Amoreau family for over 400 years – fourteen generations of history and know-how – which we now know as biodynamics.
Every treatment used in the vineyard are made only from natural plants.

From this Winery
The wines of La Closerie Saint Roc have a fresh attack, are refined, light and elegant on the palate. They enhance the flavour of the dishes they accompany.
The aroma of earth and the taste of light Gamay are combined with the nuances of wild roses and red berries, but above all, the flavor of mules is characteristic. It also has herbal and floral nuances such as rosemary and violet. A pure, crisp, condensed wine.
The scent spreads quickly and comfortably, and the elements such as soil, spices and minerals are well harmonized. You can also feel the aroma of black cherries, including the nuances of framboise and black tea. The tannins are mild at first, but change to a clear outline as you drink. At the same time as having a classical taste, the terroir with special characteristics melts into the wine purely, and you can enjoy the refreshing salty taste even at this stage.
