Domaine de la Solitude - Famille Lancon Vin de la Solitude 2019
A cuvée that pays homage to their ancestor, Paul Martin. He was one of the first producers to sell bottled wine under the name Solitude in the 18th century.
It is made by the manufacturing method at that time. They use a wide variety of grapes, ferment them together, and spend much more time doing maceration than today's methods.

Winery Description
Domaine de La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots date back to the 15th century. In the 17th century, Hélène Barberini, descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family of the same name, married Claude Martin, owner of a vineyard in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grandson will give a tremendous boost to the estate by creating the first label on the Appellation. Thus “the Wine of Solitude” becomes a guarantee of quality and is exported.
Eight generations later the Domaine is still family owned and run by Florent Lançon.
The vineyard extends over 37 hectares in A.O.C Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
It is conducted in organic farming. Its grape varieties carry the history of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the thirteen grape varieties are grown there.
The Estate is divided into 33 plots spread over 2 islands, 33 ha around the Estate and 4 ha to the north of the appellation. A natural, complex heritage where safres and pebbles form a veritable mosaic of terroirs.
