Tasting notes

The colour is ruby red with some maroon reflections, without com plexions and without being obsessed about the extraction, clean, gleam ing and bright. In the sm elling phase we find a lot of fruit in the point of maturity joined perfectly with wood, without this predom inating. At this moment balsamic notes clearly appear, under forest, hu us, wetland, pine, rosemary, mature red fruits and fig bread accom panied by fine sm oked notes and cedar given by the combined French oak barrels of 500 litres.
On the mouth it’s fine, with sweet and granulated tannins. The  ine is fresh and acid, which will help it live and compensate. The alcoholic graduation is very long and oily. Estrecho is a wine with soul, it’s prepared to have it now and the following years. As a concept we have searched for the delicacy and elegance of this variety, starting with the selection of the land and obliging us in the wining not to over extract, press or compress. It is our little tribute to the province of Alicante, with this  ine you’ll enjoy the sun, our land and our people

Winery Description

Bodegas Enrique Mendoza was founded in 1989 during the recovery of 2000 family plants in the Marina Baixia area and today the property extends over 100ha
Their awareness of viticulture led them to cultivate grapes in an ecological way and to control them in a technological way.

“The best wines always come from the best vineyards”  Enrique Mendoza

Despite the fact that Enrique Mendoza makes the vast majority of his wines from foreign grape varieties, the winery has established itself as one of the main jewels of the DO Alicante, and today it is one of the wineries examples of the Mediterranean, which produces top-of-the-range wines.
