Tasting notes

The nose is generously garnished with white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and iodine.
The palate is greedy, with a fruity acidity that reflects the limestone origin of the soil, and a salty finish that ends with a subtle trickle of carbon dioxide, giving a vibrant finish.

Winery Description

Delphine and Grégory Viennois, two native Burgundians, are returning to their roots with the creation of their wine merchant La Maison de la Chapelle. These two wine enthusiasts embarked on their adventure with their very first vintage in 2014. Delphine, who comes from a winemaking family, has always been associated with the great Burgundy houses. As for Grégory, an oenologist, he trained with some of the great names in Burgundy, including Domaine J. Prieur, de l'Arlot, Smtih-Haut Lafitte, M. Chapoutier, Ferraton Père & Fils and Stéphane Derenoncourt. Now back in Burgundy, running his own business, he is also technical director at Domaine Laroche in Chablis and consultant at Quinta Do Monte d'Oiro in Portugal.

Established in the Irancy appellation, Maison de La Chapelle produces parcel-based cuvées to highlight Burgundy's distinctive 'climat'. The young company makes wines, mainly from Pinot Noir, in keeping with Burgundian know-how and tradition. It's a promising company that's already making a name for itself in this little-known but up-and-coming Burgundy appellation.
