Winery Description
The estate is owned by Fabre Family, owners in Corbieres appellation since 1605 and they bought Château de Luc in 1876. Today it the 15th generations who is in charge of all the estates (5 differents Châteaux in Languedoc appellation)
It was in the heart of Cathars country that Château de Luc was constructed in the 5th century. After centuries of preservation and some restoration, the chateau bears witness to the heritage of this historical site.
The vineyard has a great diversity of soils: soils of recent alluvium, soils of rolled pebbles and finally deeper soils on the plots of the limestone hills originating from the Miocene. These soils all have one thing in common, they are not very fertile and are very rich in minerals.
The climate is characterized by the particular strength of the Cers (north-west wind). It is thanks to this prevailing wind that the grapes are in contact with the garrigue and transmit to the wines aromas of juniper or rosemary.
