The 2012 Pouilly-Fuissé “Extremis” has a very well-defined bouquet with scents of white peach, apricot blossom and granite, muted at first, but unfolding superbly in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a harmonious, Meursault-like opening, a fine line of acidity and plenty of spice-tinged honeyed fruit toward the convincing finish. There is a sense of completeness to this Pouilly-Fuissé – a cut above the rest in 2012.
